Betty Lou Sesco Cox passed peacefully at home on Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Hillsboro, Kentucky at the age of 88.

Betty is survived by her children: Gregory Cox (Sherry) of Hillsboro, KY; Kathy Cox Gray (Warren) and Stephanie Cox Smith (Chris) of Beavercreek, OH; her grandchildren: April Cox of Hillsboro, KY; Travis Huddleston of Columbus, OH; Christopher Gray (Valleri) and Miranda Gray Russell of Beavercreek, OH; Tiffany Seaton of Louisville, KY, Christopher Smith (Bailey) of Franklin, OH and Norman Smith of Kettering, OH; her great-grandchildren: Natasha Estep, Amber Stevens, Ashley Applegate, Lauren Curtis and Logan Curtis of Hillsboro, KY; Matthew Gray, Iris Russell, Hunter Seaton and Dylan Carter of Beavercreek, OH; and Penny Smith of Waynesville, OH; her great-great-grandchildren: Madison Estep, Connor Lucas, Alanna Lucas, Sophia Kielman, Jacob Edmond, Raelynn Watson and Brinley DeAtley of Hillsboro, KY; and her sibling: Rosella Schulte (Jim) of Morehead, KY.

She was preceded in death by her groom: Walter (Bun) Cox; her parents: Elmon and Martha Baldridge Sesco; her son: Jeffrey Cox; her grandson: Ryan Seaton; and her siblings.

Betty was born on August 29, 1932 in Lomansville, Kentucky.  She married Walter in 1951.  Betty was a dedicated housewife and mother.  Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren all adored her and her incredible cooking. Betty earned her cosmetology license and ran her own beauty shop, while raising her four children.  She instilled biblical virtues and a good work ethic in her family.

Betty loved singing, cooking, crocheting, volunteer work, spending time with family and friends and bowling.  She attended Sharkey Baptist Church.  She was an active member of the Sharkey Homemakers and held the positions of President, Vice President and Treasurer.  She dearly loved her family and sacrificed greatly for them.  She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. - 7 P.M. at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead (located at 808 Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, KY 40351).

A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.

Burial with a grave side service will be at the Little Mary Cemetery (located on Maxey Flat Road in Hillsboro, KY).

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty’s life.

Her children would like to thank Betty’s beloved granddaughter, April Cox, for her many years of loving devotion and commitment to her care.

Pallbearers will be Roger Cox, Travis Huddleston, Donald Rison, Buddy Rison, Christopher Gray and Josh Hope.
