Bernadine "Dena" Ellington

Mrs. Bernadine "Dena" Antoinette Buccini Ellington, 87 of Kentucky 801 North, Morehead, passed away Friday evening July 29, 2016 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 14, 1929 in Pardoe, Pennsylvania to the late Dominico and Josephina D'nofrio Buccini.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Dominic Buccini and sister Edith Costello.

Mrs. Ellington was retired from the Rowan County School System where she served as secretary at Morehead Elementary School for many years.

She was a member of Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church, enjoyed working word search puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence "Dick" Ellington, two sons, Freddy Ellington and his wife Barbie of Morehead and John Ellington and his wife Billie of Edenton, North Carolina. Two daughters, Patti Lowe and her husband Greg of Corryton, Tennessee and Angie Robinson and her husband Ernie of Morehead. One brother, Philip Buccini of Grove City, Pennsylvania and One sister, Pauline Harris of Mercer, Pennsylvania. Six Grandchildren: Mark Lowe, Courtney Ellington and her husband Casey Placek, Brad Robinson, Deandra Robinson, Charlie Mashburn, Matthew Verzwyvelt. Three great- grandchildren, Sierra Lowe, Brendan Mashburn and Harper Mashburn. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ellington Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2016.

Serving as pall bearers will be Greg Lowe, Mark Lowe, Ernie Robinson, Marshall Stevens, Kenny Fulton and Danny Ellis.

Contributions are suggested to Christian Social Services or the Community Soup Kitchen.
