Barbara Sue Phillips

Barbara Sue LeMaster Phillips, 80 of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after an extended illness.

She was born November 9, 1944 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Elmer and Dora McDaniel LeMaster.

Barbara was a retired sales representative for State Farm Insurance. She was a Member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Normal, Illinois. She was a 1962 graduate of Belleville High School and a graduate of Washtenaw Community College. Barbara enjoyed reading and after retirement she worked at the Martin Township Library. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her biscuits and gravy, cole slaw and baked beans were legendary.

Phillips, brothers: Von Eldon LeMaster, Don Alton LeMaster and her sister, Charolette LeMaster.

Survivors include two sons: Jeff Phillips of Normal, Illinois and Tom (Dawn) Phillips of Richmond, Texas. One brother, Charles LeMaster of Elliottville, Kentucky and one sister, Zelma Vanbuskirk of Brooksville, Florida. Six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives including the McDaniel family.

A Celebration of Life service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
