Alice Reynolds

Alice Patrick Reynolds, formerly of Morehead, KY, peacefully passed away in Springfield, Ohio on March 1, 2022 at the age of 95.

She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Arnett Patrick, and the widow of James R. “Pap” Reynolds.

Alice entered this world surrounded by the music of the physician and her father playing fiddles in the living room of their Paintsville, KY home.  Music guided her throughout her life.  She began playing the piano at age 3 and her last piano concert was in February of 2022 at age 95 at the Springfield Mercy Medical Center when she played “Yesterday” on a baby grand piano for the medical staff and patients.  Her world was dominated by her gift of perfect pitch.  Mashed potatoes became a culinary success when the mixer reached G sharp!  She played for her first funeral at age 12, continued playing for many more funerals, weddings, church services, singers, USO dances and will provide the music for her own funeral.

She graduated from Breckinridge Training School, attended Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, their son Colonel Jim Reynolds, her parents, her sisters Carol Hall and Janet Litton, and brother Creed Patrick.

She is survived by her younger sister Nancy Patrick Jackson of Riverview, FL, daughters Mary R. Levee of Elizabethtown, KY, Cindy Peake of Springfield, OH, and Virginia Hatmaker of Mt. Juliet, TN, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery.

Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Peake, Elijah Peake, Ian Peake, Logan Arnett, Ray Griffith, Dwayne Allen, Mike Gray and Danny Reynolds.
