Albert MacArthur Alderson, Jr., 52, of Greenbend Road, Morehead passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at St. Claire HealthCare.

He was born on September 4, 1966 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of Albert MacArthur Alderson, Sr. and Dorthula Wescott Alderson of Morehead.

Albert was employed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as the Maintenance Operations Branch Manager of the Department of Parks and he was a United States Coast Guard Veteran.

He was a graduate of the Ashland Technical College, a member of the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 and was of the Christian Faith.

Albert enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, kayaking, water, the ocean, the outdoors, hiking, golfing and collecting guns.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Melina Kestner Alderson, whom he married on January 14, 2006, three sons, Kenneth Albert Alderson of West Liberty, Austin James Alderson and Brandon Matthew Clark both of Morehead, one brother, James Arthur Alderson of Morehead and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Eddie Dennison officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation is after 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Glover, Tony Glover, Pat Conn, Jammie Kestner, Ryan Kestner, Jacob Blanton, Brandon Mullins and Mike Conn.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is caring for all arrangements.
