Timothy Kelsey

April 8, 1963 — January 12, 2018

Timothy Wayne Kelsey, 54 of Morehead, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on April 8, 1963 to Betty Jean Scott Riddle and the late Omer Gene Kelsey.

Tim attended the First Church of God, enjoyed working on computers, helping at Harris Auction House, spending time with his children, reading the bible, Kentucky Basketball, WWE Wrestling, the outdoors sitting around a campfire, reading and watching television. He was a 1982 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School and was the former pastor of the Bald Hill Church of God in Fleming County. He had also served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father Omer Gene Kelsey: grandparents, Walter and Ida Kelsey and Claude and Alice Scott.

Survivors include his children: Melanie Kelsey of Morehead and Eugene Kelsey of Lexington. Their mother, Ruby Turner of Lexington. Lynnsey Keith and her mother Cheryl Keith both of Morehead. His mother Betty Scott Riddle and her husband Tony of Owingsville. One brother Jeff Scott of Morehead. Two sisters: Libby Smith of Owingsville and Karen (Larry) Manley of Flemingsburg. Also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Kelsey Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 12 Noon Monday.

Pall bearers will be Cecil Cornett, Jeff Harris, Wendell Collins, Darrell Glover, John Northcutt and John Brown.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to help the family with funeral expenses.
