Mr. Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Collins, age 75 of Rawcel Heights, Morehead, passed away Thursday evening, January 10, 2019 at St. Claire Healthcare in Morehead.

He was born in Ashland, Kentucky June 28, 1943 to the late LeRoy and Stella Perry Collins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son Derrick Lee who passed away on December 15, 2016, one brother Ova and one sister Pauline.

Ronnie is survived by his high school sweetheart Carolyn Caudill Collins who he married on July 27, 1962. Also surviving is one daughter Greta Lynn and youngest son Christopher Allen and his wife Sarah. His daughter-in-law Lisa Kiser Collins. Eight grandchildren; Jason, Lindsey, Jessica, Leah, Alisha, Amanda, Clara and Curtis. One step-grandchild Lathan and one great grandchild Rylan.

Ronnie was well known for establishing the first flea market in Morehead at the old drive in theater. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Kentucky Corp of Long Rifleman. He was a truckdriver for Spring Grove Dairy and a bus driver for the Rowan County School System. Ronnie was a talented woodworker and in later years became an accomplished coloring book artist.

Ronnie was a family man who was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed.

The family invites you to join them 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead as they celebrate the life of Ronald Lee Collins.

Officiating ministers will be Brother Herbert D. Lewis and Dr. Michael Spurlock.

Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday.

Family and Friends will serve as pall bearers.
