Myrtie Hilterbrand

September 12, 1940 — June 2, 2017

Mrs. Myrtie Ruth Weaver Hilterbrand, 76 of the Crain Creek Community of Fleming County, passed away Friday morning, June 2, 2017 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an illness of several weeks.

She was born in Plummer's Landing, Kentucky on September 12, 1940 to the late John E. and Irene Ida Delores Ramey Weaver.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill Hilterbrand in 1991, three brothers, Harold Weaver, Albert Weaver and Paul Weaver. Two sisters, Louise Dailey and Delores Weaver.

Ruth was a graduate of Morehead State University and was a retired teacher from the Fleming County School System. She had also taught in the Beaver Creek Ohio School System for seven years. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a  member of the Crain Creek Christian Church and enjoyed reading, quilting, playing scrabble, playing rook, spending time with her family and friends and was a great cook. She was also a member of the Maxey Flat Awareness organization. Ruth along with her husband Bill were instrumental in reopening and pastoring the Big Run Church.

Survivors include four sons, William Hilterbrand, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Muses Mills, Kentucky, Danny Hilterbrand and his wife Bonnie of Aberdeen, Ohio, Wesley Hilterbrand and his wife Tracy of Hillsboro, Kentucky and Ward Hilterbrand and his wife Jill of Maxey Flats, Kentucky. Two daughters, Susie Roark of Crain Creek and Malerie Ace of Morehead.

Three brothers, Jerry Weaver and his wife Jackie of Crain Creek, Randy Weaver and his wife Sandy of Crain Creek and Rick Weaver of Morehead.

One sister, Patricia Rigdon and her husband Doug of Hillsboro, Kentucky.

Twelve Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also, many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss her too.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Darry Cooper, Pastor Doug Reeves and Pastor Raymond Steagall officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery on Maxey Flat.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017.

Pallbearers will be Wes Hilterbrand, Ward Hilterbrand, Shawn Roark, Jaden Conn, Andrew Hilterbrand, Kenneth Roark, Dewayne Weaver and Michael Hay.
