Harold Kissick

Harold W. Kissick, 85 of Morehead passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an illness of several weeks. He was born in Grange City, Kentucky on November 3, 1932 to the late Roy W. Kissick and Olive Marie Kissick Howell.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gwandaline Riley and Garnett Holder.

Harold was the former owner of Kissick Mobile Home Sales in Ashland, Virginia, formerly owned and operated Kissick Mobile Home Park and Kissick Auto Sales in Morehead. He retired in 1995. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1952 to 1955 and in the Naval Reserve from 1956 to 1960.

He was a Member of the Morehead City Council from June 2002 through 2008 and was a member of the Morehead Housing Authority where he was currently serving as the chairman.

Harold was Past Master of Phelps Masonic Lodge #482 in Farmers, Kentucky.  a member of the 45R and S.M., Morehead Commandery #53, El Hasa Shrine Temple of Ashland. Also, he was a lifetime  member of the El Hasa Temple Motor Corp and El Hasa Clan # 1, Grand Glorious order of Hillbilly Degree, a Kentucky Colonel, A member of the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 and VFW Post 3131.

Survivors include his wife Joyce McDaniel Kissick, one daughter, Chandra Kissick Venettozzi of Frankfort, Kentucky. One granddaughter, Vanessa Michele Venettozzi also of Frankfort. One brother, Harvey L. Kissick, a nephew Gary Wayne Riley and niece Teresa Riley Kissick.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Bro. Johnny A. Carter officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 will be in the Crix Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 P.M. Monday.

Masonic Rites by the Phelps Masonic Lodge No. 482 will be conducted 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Riley, Bruce McDaniel, Don Hall, Benjamin "Pete" Holder, Jim Cox and Victor Venettozzi.

Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Phelps Lodge #482, Morehead Shrine Club and Jackie Plank.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, Kentucky 40508.
