Freda Caudill

October 1, 1937 — December 22, 2017

Mrs. Freda Campbell Caudill, 80 of Salisbury, North Carolina went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, December 22, 2017 with her family by her side.    What a day of celebrating it was.  She woke up that same day and told her family “I am good”. “I am happy”.

Affectionately known to many young children she kept in her home as “Mama Freda”,  she was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  After raising her own children, she went to work at Revco (CVS), F&M Bank and then J. C. Penney.

Before moving her membership to First Baptist Church of Cooleemee, Freda was an active member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she was involved in the Care Ministry, Prayers and Squares, Women’s Ministries and was Secretary of her Sunday School Class.

Born October 1, 1937 in Morehead, KY, Freda was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emma Campbell of Kentucky.  She was the youngest of 14 children and was preceded in death by all her siblings.  Freda looked forward to being reunited in heaven with  her sister Mae with whom she resided after the death of her parents.

Freda is survived by her husband of 59 years,  James Harold Caudill whom she married on October 25, 1958.  She is also survived by her children, Debbie Davis (Bob) of Woodleaf, Teresa Hodge (Jack Jr.) of Salisbury and Andy Caudill (Sabrina) of China Grove; grandchildren, Madison Tucker Osborne, McKenna Caudill and McGuire Caudill and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday (December 26) at the Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, North Carolina and will be at the residence at other times.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon Wednesday (December 27, 2017) at the Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Mullis, minister of First Baptist Church of Cooleemee.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday (Dec. 28) at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 808 Old Flemingsburg Rd., Morehead, KY.  A graveside service will be conducted 11 AM Friday (Dec. 29) at the Caudill Family Cemetery, Sharkey, KY

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cooleemee Building Fund, 204 Marginal Street, Cooleemee, NC  27014 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
