Donald Adkins

September 13, 1941 — February 6, 2017

Donald Lee Adkins, 75, of Cranston Road, Morehead passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home.

He was born on September 13, 1941 in Haldeman, Kentucky, a son of the late John Roy Adkins and Delphia Lands Adkins.

Mr. Adkins was a plumber.  He was also a former employee of Pack’s and Morehead State University.

He had been a member of the Army National Guard.  Donald was a Christian and a Bass Club Member.  He enjoyed hunting, especially turkey hunting, fishing, the outdoors, driving his Argo ATV and raising a garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Paul Adkins and three sisters, Ina Clo Templeman, Evelyn Ellis and Margaret Louise Adkins.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Archer Adkins, one brother, Larry (Darlene) Adkins of Morehead, three sisters, Jean Barker and Wanda Marshall both of Morehead and Barbara Collins of Clearfield, his mother-in-law, Norma Lee Archer of Morehead and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Andy Lands and Pastor Randy Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Adams-Plank Cemetery.

Nephews will be serving as pallbearers.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
