Delbert Blankenship

Delbert Junior Blankenship, 77, of Greenfield, Indiana formerly Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.

He was born on May 29, 1938 in Mansfield, Ohio, a son of the late Jessie and Gladys Holbrook Blankenship.

Mr. Blankenship was a retired printer for World Color Press Inc.

He was a member of Moriah Apostolic Church in Indianapolis.

Delbert enjoyed golf, baseball, fishing and bowling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Blankenship and Billy Blankenship.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Stamper Blankenship, whom he married on September 13, 1975, one son, Troy (Erica) Blankenship of Orange, California, five daughters, Teresa Lawler and Teri Melchert both of North Carolina, Tracy Martinez of El Paso, Texas, Holly (Billy) Ratliff of Morehead and Jennifer (Cornelias) Harper of Greenfield, Indiana, one brother, Kenny Blankenship of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, one sister, Brenda Meyer of Vandalia, Illinois, eighteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Sunday, November 1, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home – Morehead with Rev. Richard Pearce, Brownie Stamper and Rev. Cornelias Harper officiating.

Burial will follow in the McDaniel-Stamper Family Cemetery in Fleming County.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Cody Ratliff, Joshua Ratliff, Jordan Harper, Jeremy Ratliff, Derrick Simmons, Nathan Davis, Christopher Stamper and Bill McDaniel.

Brad Baker will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
