Billie ("Bill") Armstrong

August 30, 1934 — September 5, 2017

Mr. Billie (“Bill”) Merrill Armstrong, 83, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday morning, September 5, 2017 at his home.

He was born on August 30, 1934 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Mitchell and Okie (Reed) Armstrong.

Mr. Armstrong was retired from General Motors, where he had worked for 40 years.

He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran, a member of the Church of God and he enjoyed hunting, salmon fishing and fixing up the home place.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bob Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Forman) Armstrong, one daughter, Tana Armstrong of Daleville, Indiana, one son, Tim Armstrong and his wife, Christian of Middletown, Indiana, three brothers, Neil Armstrong and Freddy Armstrong both of Morehead and Michael Armstrong of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren, Dustin Armstrong, Leah Veliz and Crystal Armstrong, two step-grandchildren, Cayla Melton and Joshlin Becraft, seven great-grandchildren, Carter Armstrong, Natalie Armstrong, Jacob Ross, Hannah Ross, Madi Garcia, Emma Veliz and Lakin York, one step-great-grandchild, Lydia Becraft and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Vernon Lambert officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation is after 5 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Armstrong, Phillip Armstrong, Bobby Armstrong, Miles Parsons, Scott Armstrong and Jason Armstrong.
